From the DWBA President:

News Flash:

Dallas Women’s Bowling Association held a membership meeting on October 9, 2004 at Showplace Lanes in Garland. A vote was taken to join the DWBA to the long list of organizations that are joining the United States Bowling Congress (USBC). A letter of intent will be sent to USBC as to the results. Also at this time a vote was taken as to the thought of joining forces with the men and youth organizations in the Dallas area. It was an overwhelming vote to do so. Representatives were elected to represent DWBA in the discussions with the men (DBA) and the youth (DYABA) as to whether this can be accomplished in the Dallas area. The DWBA hope that by joining forces in the Dallas area it can make the bowling family even stronger than it is at this time. We want to support all bowlers, leagues and their secretaries in making their jobs easier by only having to send sanction and award applications to one office. We, The Dallas Women’s Bowling Association Board are the Dallas women bowler’s representatives and hope to carry out their hopes and dreams for bowling in the Dallas Area. Any and all questions that need answering, contact Ellen Goss, DWBA President or Lois Gibson, DWBA Secretary.  Also any board member of DWBA will be glad to help in any way possible.

To the Dallas Women's Bowling Association's Officers, Directors, Life Members, Member Emeritae, and Members

Proposal #1:

As WIBC, ABC, YABA, and USA Bowling have agreed to a merge into the United States Bowling Congress as of January 1, 2005, the Dallas Women's Bowling Associaition wishes to charter with the new organization (USBC) and will send their letter of "intent to merge" before the May 31, 2005 deadline.

Reason:  As our parent organizations have agreed to merge and create USBC, it is necessary for DWBA to comply with the requirements to become part of this organization and continue to receive awards, programs, and benefits as proposed by USBC.

Proposal #2:

The Dallas Women's Bowling Association will enter into discussion with the Dallas Bowling Association and the Dallas YABA with the intent of merging the respective associations under a USBC charter.

Reason:  Merging the local associations offers the best opportunities for every Dallas bowler to receive awards, have tournaments, insure bonding of leagues, guarantee lane certification, and continue fair and equal representation for every bowler.
